iPhone v1.0.2 Released
Apple has released another bug fix update for the iPhone (v1.0.2). As we would expect from Apple no specific bugs were outlined in a change log.
This release appears minor enough that we almost skipped this post. Has anyone found anything worth noting in this release?

Here's the list so far, from the posts here and other sites in the first hours since 1.0.2 has been out.
There are some items which are substancial, such as improved Wi-Fi speeds, Sent To The Gallery stability, and the password stick fix mentioned below as well as an apparent tweak to the learning dictionary.
REPORTED BUGS NEW TO 1.0.2, OR AT LEAST HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY WITH 1.0.2
1) Playing music in iPod then surfing in Safari sometimes causes iPod music playback to stop. Was scrolling pretty fast up and down the MSNBC or FOXNEWS home page which is several pages worth in portrait mode. Fast: as in seeing the gray-white matrix show when Safari hasn't yet repainted the display. When re-entering iPod app, music was not paused, it was simply stopped and no indication that it has ever played (for example was not shown as halfway played, etc). This occurred with 8 Safari browsers running at the same time. Last page being viewed was MSNBC or FOXNEWS. With 1.0.0, I had seen this. 1.0.1 seemed to have fixed this for me. 1.0.2 seems to have broken it again.
2) Possible increased battery depletion and increased heating. Please monitor this and see if you experience this. Could be the increased WiFi and/or Edge speeds seen sucking the battery down faster. I personally would rather have better speeds since a charger is not too far away (car, house, work, etc).
REPORTED ISSUES WITH UPGRADE
1) As before with 1.0.1, people who've hacked anything (except apparently for just Ring Tones) are experiencing, once again, issues updating. Play with fire, you get burned. Backup fools. Many reported iPhoneringtonemaker is the only hack to not force restore.
REPORTED FIXES
1) Wi-fi connections "seem" better.
2) Wi-fi connections way faster.
Update: I too experience way faster Wi-Fi speeds, my DSL 1.5mps and Wireless Router on top of that loads the MSNBC and FOXNEWS websites blazingly fast, they crept along before 1.0.2.
3) Safari is "snappier".
4) Secondary email setup (POP3 then later on added GMail) now is holding onto password, was forgetting it with 1.0.0 and 1.0.1. Verified on more than one iPhone! A true bug fix.
5) Photos menu forward photo now is displaying "Send to Web Gallery" consistantly if you have .Mac email setup. Was sometimes working, was sometimes not working. Seems to work consistantly now.
6) MOVED TO WISHFUL THINKING
7) Phone signal fluctuation problem when standing in one place fixed.
8) Sometimes you couldn't close vertical tabs while in landscape mode because the title of the pages would block out the close button. Now, if you switch modes with multiple pages open, the tabs automatically change to the correct mode and you can close them properly!
Update: Some 1.0.2 users recently report they can't get this to work. I will try on my 1.0.2 and verify.
9) You are now able to scroll properly in Safari as the page is still loading whereas before it would mostly not allow you to scroll.
Update: Seems that several minor tweaks to Safari browsing have been made with better scrolling being one of them.
10) MOVED TO WISHFUL THINKING
11) Learning dictionary is actually learning. The "vrillusions" user name example, or other "weird" usernames not in standard dictionaries.
12) MOVED TO WISHFUL THINKING
13) Bluetooth pairing with my imac, didn't find any compatible devices prior to 1.02 now it lets you pair the iphone and enter a pin but still doesn't add any usable items after the iphone is paired.
Update: Bluetooth pairing seems to be working better, but the above scenario obviously doesn't net you anything. At least apple is working on fixes, however hidden they are.
REPORTED BUT NOT THERE (WISHFUL THINKING)
1) New wallpapers - 1.0.2 has no new wallpapers.
2) World peace - still not there in 1.0.2
3) Email Advanced Options - was there previous to 1.0.2
4) "Clear Cache" option added - was there previous to 1.0.2
5) Share url button in Safari added. Allows you to quickly email the URL to someone or multiple people. New feature added.
Update: A few 1.0.1 users report this was there at least with 1.0.1.
I wish my wife would break down and get an iPhone, then I could keep her 1 revision back to see what's changed!
6) While in Safari if you tap the top tool bar it will scroll back to the top of the page.
Update: Was in previous version pre 1.0.2
7) More visible sliderbar appears when you touch the quick alpha-shortcut tab in the contact view and ipod albums views.
Update: Was in previous version pre 1.0.2
Please reply if you can verify these, dispute these, or want to add one.

On 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 I had continuous, intermittent issues with charging using the brick and USB cable. Often, when plugging the iPhone into a wall outlet, the battery charge simply would not engage and no charging would take place. In attempted repairs at the Apple Genius Bar, they replaced the brick, the cable and I restored software. No change with any.
Plugging the iPhone into a PC worked fine.
1.0.2 seems to have fixed this bug for me entirely. I am now able to charge using wall power at all times. I mention here that I alos bought a second iPhone for my better half and she had the same issue with her phone. I also asked Apple tech if this was an issue and the tech admitted yes. But again 1.0.2 solves this bug. BTW, do not get caught staying in a hospital for a few days, as happened to me, with the above issue. You will not be able to charge. Make sure to install 1.0.2 before going anywhere where you can't access a PC for charging.
It's not off, even it's off

Outrageous bills.
Not to talk about losing your privacy: iPhone's IP-logs (mandated to be stored by AT&T couple of years tells govt. officials your detailled route in accuracy of WiFi- (less than 30 feets) or intersection of EDGE stations (30-300 feets).
