It has been reported that Apple/AT&T have sold between 500,000 and 700,000 iPhones since being launched June 29th. What can we expect from Apple now that the iPhone is in so many hands?

To say that Apple has their hands full would be an understatement:
  • Leopard - Announced October release.
  • iWork - Update to utilize Leopard features. Spreadsheet application?
  • iLife - Updated to utilize Leopard features.
  • .Mac - Updated to remain competitive with other online offerings.
  • iPhone Updates - Enhancements and bug fixes (we will discuss current iPhone bugs in another article this week).
  • iPhone SDK - Allow 3rd party development.
  • The next iPhone - The iPhone will only remain a revolutionary device if Apple continues development on new hardware and software (our suggestions for the next iPhone will appear in another article).
  • Updated Macbooks - LED-backlit displays in all models. There are recent rumors about a multi-touch screen.
  • Updated iMac - Thinner and faster. Brushed metal?
  • Apple TV - USB TV tuner add-on to provide recording capabilities? Increased drive capacity.
  • iPod - Multi-touch wide screen?
  • External iSight - Release of the next external iSight?
  • Safari Browser (Windows and Mac) - Security updates and plug-in enhancements to satisfy Firefox users.

At this point it appears that Leopard and the iPhone will be the top priorities. Our opinion is that Apple will continue to tie their primary product lines together. Leopard (and XP/Vista), iPhone, and Apple TV all working seamlessly.

Back to eagerly awaiting the next Steve Jobs keynote...
