The last update we had yesterday was "starting the activation process". We wanted to post more information but we have yet to finish the activation! One iPhone activated immediately, the other will not activate.

Friday night:
iPhone activations are not available at this time.
Saturday morning:

We were unable to verify your identity using the information you provided. Please verify your information and try again.

Followed by... AT&T was unable to verify your identity using the information you provided.

Now after more than 5 hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T (mostly with Apple) we are... still out of luck.

During our last call the AT&T representative told me that we "were one of the lucky few who have been able to activate their iPhone". Now if we could just get our second iPhone working.

iPhone Activation Solution Found!

9:00 AM: A very helpful AT&T representative found a solution to our activation issue! Rather than trying to add a line to our existing AT&T account, we simply created another account. Boom! The second iPhone has been activated.

In a couple hours when the second account is fully setup/ported we will call them to request a "band to band move" to combine the two accounts into one.

While we wish they would have thought of this yesterday, we are happy to be working now.

Updates

Saturday 2:04 PM: Yesterday the first number we ported over completed in approximately 40 minutes. We were able to start the porting process for the second line 5 hours ago, but it has yet to complete the process. We can use all of the iPhone features with the exception of receiving calls. Not too bad.

Saturday 11:08 PM: Number still not ported.

Sunday 8:30 AM: 23.5 hours later the number has completed the porting process. We are now calling AT&T to have the number banded to the FamilyTalk Plan we originally ordered.

Sunday 9:30 AM: The AT&T Port Activation support department is not authorized to perform band to band moves. Transferring call to customer service. It took 27 additional minutes due to hold times to complete the banding process and to verify the plan was setup correctly.

Sunday 10:00 AM: DONE!
