In Line
We are in line right now. Not at the front, but close enough that we will leave here with two iPhones! Thanks to the WiFi connection at the Apple store we will remain connected to the outside world.
| 6:35 AM | Local channel 11 interviewed the guy in front of us (we will call him David because he is supposed to be at work today). It would have been nice of KARE-11 to send a camera man who was not so anti-technology and rude. |
| 7:00 AM | Mall security says no folding chairs allowed. |
| 7:20 AM | Others in line have been notified - no laying down allowed. |
| 8:42 AM | Chairs and lounging are now allowed. |
| 8:59 AM | A couple of guys from the Sprint store just walked over to the front of the Apple store to check out the iPhone display. |
| 9:05 AM | A woman from the Verizon just came by to take our picture. She now appears to be emailing it using her fancy VCast phone. |
| 9:17 AM | Amy from the Apple store just delivered bottles of water to everyone in line. |
| 10:35 AM | Local Channel 12 just interviewed the guy in front of us. |
| 11:11 AM | A shopper just said "what are all these people waiting for?" |
| 11:34 AM | Nick the Apple store lead just came out to shake our hands. He has been here all night preparing for today. |
| 12:00 PM | Ran into the Apple store to check out the new iPhone videos on apple.com. Someone walked in after me asking to buy an iPhone. |
| 12:12 PM | Arby's lunch break. |
| 1:00 PM | Apple employee taking more pictures of the people in line. Probably emailing them directly to Steve Jobs. |
| 1:07 PM | More than half the people in line have Macbooks. |
| 1:15 PM | A local 'Protection Officer' is now stationed at the entrance of the Apple store. Several security individuals are making their rounds. The store is closing in 45 minutes. |
| 2:20 PM | The windows are completely covered now. What is going on in there? |
| 2:46 PM | Not much going on... The security guard moved from in front of the entrance to the left side of the store, now back to the center. |
| 3:36 PM | Local channel 9 news is here talking to the David. Live feed starts at 5:45. |
| 3:41 PM | We can leave the line because everyone we have been sitting here all day. |
| 4:22 PM | The excitement is growing. People are starting to pack up their notebooks in preparation for 6:00. |
| 6:10 PM | I think we were the first out of the Apple store after purchasing our iPhone. Gotta get home to activate! |
| 6:39 PM | Sitting at home starting the activation process! |
Do you think that when they open the door they'll shoot giant fireworks out at the people in line? That would be cool. You should take special precautions to make sure that you are flame retardant.
How long is the store going to be closed for?
How were you able to get Arby's? Can you leave line and come back? Did you say "Whack whack spot back" and then walk away only to return and reposition yourself in the line at the front? Were people mad that you remembered to say "whack whack spot back"?

Sorry about all the comments, but at this point you're either doing one of two things.
1. The activation process is not working as smoothly as anticipated so you're pulling your hair out.
2. You're having too much fun importing all of your music library into your new phone.
